Chapter 1
Zane
“Fuck yeah, take it all,” I demand, holding tightly onto Daisy’s hair. She’s got my dick so far down her throat I’m surprised she’s not choking. I don’t give a shit, I just need to get off. She’s always more than willing to help with that.
She moans against me and I pull her hair harder, rocking my hips. She’s a good distraction, which is what I need. One more moan as she cups my balls and I come down her throat. She takes every drop and pulls off licking her lips. Her blonde hair falls back as she looks up at me from the floor. Her tits drag up my body as she stands up. I grab her ass, her thong the only thing separating us.
“My turn, Z,” she smiles and lays down on the bed.
“Z,” Enzo yells, banging on the door. “Let’s go, brother.”
I tuck my cock away and button my jeans. “Gotta go,” I say, kissing her cheek.
“Fucking tease,” she mumbles.
I turn to face her, slipping my cut back on. “What the fuck did you just say?”
She scrabbles off the bed holding her hands up. “Nothing.”
“Don’t forget who signs your goddamn paychecks, sweetheart,” I say, lighting a cigarette and walking out.
Neon lights, tits, and stripper poles greet me as I come out of the back. I pull a drag of my smoke when I notice Enzo and Brooks are waiting for me. “What’s up?”
“Get your dick sucked on your own time and her own time. You’re costing me money taking the merchandise to sample for yourself,” Brooks warns.
“Maybe you need to get your dick sucked,” I retort.
“Watch it, boy,” he warns, moving close to my face.
“Both of you cut the shit,” Enzo says. “We need to be around the table.”
I grab a shot off the bar as I pass by and we go through the door that leads us to the room we spend so much of our time in. All the guys are in there and when the three of us walk in they sit. Brooks takes his seat at the head of the table, Enzo to his left, and me to his right.
“I heard from one of our girls that Kingsley is trying to take some of them. He needs to be reminded who owns pussy around here,” Brooks states, a puff of smoke circling his head.
“So we’ll go check out the competition and leave a reminder,” I reply, looking down at the guys.
Kace, my best friend, gives me a small grin. This is the shit he lives for. It’s the shit we all live for. It’s just been a while for him. He got shot and while he fought for his life, he was missing out on this one. I’ll make sure he gets what he needs tonight.
“Z, you, Reid, and Alex go. Enzo and I need to go meet with our tight ass realtor to see if he’s found any properties for Souls Two. The rest of you stay here and make sure shit is running smooth. If any of Kingsley’s guys come, show them the fucking door,” Brooks explains.
“Kace is with me, Alex can stay and help here,” I say, lighting another smoke.
Brooks looks down the table at Kace and nods his head. “You ready for this?”
“I wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t,” Kace replies.
“Fine, Kace, Z, and Reid, head over to Kingsley’s. Everyone else you know what you’re doing. It’s the end of the month, so we need to hear from Porter,” Brooks advises.
“Dues are all paid, girls are making a fucking killing, which means we’re making a killing. We’ve doubled what we made last month,” Porter says.
Everyone at the table shouts. Some hit the table and it’s nothing but smiles. Money, legit money, keeps us all happy. That’s not to say that sometimes we don’t earn less than legit, but that’s all part of this life. We aren’t riding around causing chaos, but we also don’t avoid it. It’s not for everyone, not by far. I was raised in this life. Raised knowing one day I would wear this cut. My grandfather, James, was president, followed by my father, Axel, and now my Uncle Brooks. I’ve been around pussy and tits since I can remember. Sex, drinking, and bikes. I saw a lot as a kid. The first time I saw someone killed I was only five. I should’ve been scared, I should’ve cried, but I didn’t. I watched, curious. The guy was begging for mercy as my grandfather and father beat him until there was nothing but blood. My grandfather is the one that shot him. It was in that moment that I knew I wanted to be a part of this. I wanted the power that I saw my grandfather and father had. My mother, Adalyn, walked away from the club after my father was killed. She wanted me to walk away too, but I couldn’t. These are my brothers, my family. I’ll never abandon them. I’ll either die for them or die because of them. Either way, it’s how I want it.
“Z,” Reid says, hitting my arm. I snap out of my thoughts and grab the stack of money.
Damn we did make a killing. We all get up, but before I walk out, Brooks calls my name.
“You sure Kace is up for this? I can’t have shit go bad because you want your friend with you.”
“I wouldn’t do shit to jeopardize this club or Kace. He’s ready, he needs this.” I slap his back and grin. “You’re the one who made me SAA, trust that.”
&n
bsp; I put my huge earnings in the room I just had my dick sucked in, locking it in the safe that’s hidden in my closet. I go meet Kace and Reid out front, we all light up and I explain how I want things to be done. It’s my job to keep them safe. Not that I think Kingsley is going to pull out a gun, but I wouldn’t put shit past his scumbag crew. Kingsley and his guys are our competition with the strip club. His MC would be what you’d consider upper class. They are an MC of money, with endless resources, and our truest enemy. Over the years the rivalry has gotten worse. The Shattered Souls and the Vegas Kings will never see eye to eye. The wounds are deep and keep getting deeper. This newest shit he’s pulling, opening a strip club, he’s crossing a line. We handle pussy, they handle drugs. It’s the way it’s always been, until a few weeks ago. He’s starting a war he doesn’t want to have.
We pull up to Kingsley’s place and park right in front of his door. “We talk first, fists second,” I state, pushing the Colt into the waistband of my pants. “Guns last.”
I push through the doors as loud music assaults my ears. Sounds like a fucking country song or something, it’s awful. His girls are dancing and I see red when some of our regulars are sitting there watching. I shove my way through the small group of horny men, looking for Kingsley.
One of his guys, Dom, steps in front of me. “What the fuck are you doing here?”
“I need to talk to Kingsley.”
“He’s busy.”
“I don’t give a shit if he’s ramming his mom, get him out here or we’ll go looking,” I hiss.
“His mom does like it in the ass,” Reid says with a laugh. When Dom goes to take a swing, I grab his arm. “Hey, I’m just repeating what I’ve heard.”
We laugh, but Dom is just getting more pissed. Two more of his guys come over and I know it’s going to be a fight. This is what I fucking can’t stand about Kingsley. He’s a pussy. He hides behind his guys counting his money. A real man would come deal with his shit.
“Come back tomorrow,” Dom says, crossing his big arms.
“That’s not gonna work for me. Your sister is gonna have my dick in her mouth,” Kace says, provoking a fight.
“Fucking asshole,” Dom yells and takes the first swing.
It’s exactly what Kace wanted and the satisfaction on his face when his fist connects with Dom’s jaw makes me grin. The other two guys come after me and Reid. We’re all throwing punches now and obviously disrupting what’s going on, over on the stage. This will get that asshole Kingsley to emerge. He hides like a pussy, but he doesn’t like his money disturbed and that’s what’s happening now. Chicks are hiding and guys are leaving.
“Enough,” Kingsley yells.
My tongue pokes out to lick the drop of blood his guy drew. It’s nothing compared to his bloody face though. Kace throws another punch, hitting Dom in the temple and he goes down.
“Fuck, Kace, enough brother,” I yell, pushing him behind me.
“What the fuck is this about? Shattered Souls are not welcome,” Kingsley says, lighting his cigar.
I step closer to him and he puffs his chest standing his ground. “You try to take anymore of our girls and a few punches will be nothing,” I whisper.
He laughs and blows out a ring of smoke. “Are you threatening me?”
I grab a cigarette and light it, blowing smoke in his direction. “It’s no threat, it’s a goddamn promise.”
“I don’t need to take your girls, they come running,” he replies, laughing.
I throw a punch and it connects with his jaw. His stunned look makes me proud, until I realize what I did. Fuck.
“Just stay away from our girls,” I demand, turning to walk away.
“Z,” Kace starts.
“I know, fuck, I know,” I say, running my hand through my hair.
We head for the door and for a second I think I’ve been shot. The pain and rush I feel are comparable. I’m not shot though, I’m face to face with Harper Kingsley.
“Zane,” she breathes out. Her deep blue eyes lock onto mine. Her brown hair is longer, but nothing else has changed. She’s as fucking sexy as she was the night I kicked her out of my bed.
“You work here?” I say with distaste.
She left six months ago, wanted out of this life. Now she’s working the fucking strip club that’s threatening ours. What the fuck?
“I run it,” she says. “Hey Kace, how are you feeling?”
“He’s fine, we’re leaving,” I say, pushing Kace and Reid.
“It’s best you don’t come back, Z. It’s trouble,” she warns.
We get outside and I turn back looking at the doors. Holy shit. This club was her idea.
Chapter 2
Harper
My heart is still racing as the doors close behind him. Zane Madden. The only guy I’ve ever loved.
“Don’t get any fucking ideas,” my dad says, standing in front of me.
“What happened?” I ask, taking notice of the redness and small cut on his face.
“Those assholes are starting a war. You need to stay the hell away from him. This is not a request, Harper, it’s a demand. Understand?”
I force a smile and kiss his cheek. “I’m not interested, not anymore. It’s not something you need to worry about.”
He hugs me and I hate that I’m here. I wanted out, I tried to leave, but I couldn’t. I’m drawn to this life, to the bonds. I need to be here. My father is the president and I’m the goddamn queen. I run this strip club. It was my idea. I saw what the Shattered Souls had and I knew I could do it. Zane will put it together, he’s a smart man. I struggle with how I feel about that. Part of me doesn’t give a shit, yet part of me wants to impress him. It’s a messy life I live, a fucked up messy life.
“I need to get some business handled. I’ll be back,” my dad says, walking out with three of his guys.
I close my eyes and my stomach drops. I know exactly what business he has. He’s going to make Zane’s pop-in look like a school yard fight. Instinctively I grab my phone and thumb Z’s number.
“Harper, I’m gonna go on break,” Alice calls, stopping my stupidity.
I put my phone away and do my job. I can’t get between them, not anymore.
I wander around the liquor store trying to decide what I’m gonna get drunk on tonight. I pay no attention as I walk straight into a solid body. “Shit, sorry,” I mumble. I look up and Z’s pale blue eyes crash into mine.
“Don’t be,” he says, still holding onto my arm. “You look good, Harp.”
I take in the stitches by his eye, the red swollen other eye, and cut up face. Shit. “You look like crap.”
“Guess your old man wanted to make a point,” he says with a grin.
“It’s not funny. You know he’s out for blood,” I reply.
He laughs and moves even closer, still holding onto my arm. “Why are you back?”
I try to pull my arm away, but he won’t release it. “Doesn’t matter.”
“It matters,” he whispers, his deep sexy voice wrapping around me. It makes my body react, just like it always has.
“Z, please,” I beg. I can’t be given this option. I can’t be alone with him.
“I always loved when you begged me, babe.”
I once again try to pull away, but he backs me up and opens a door to the back of the store. Once it closes he presses me against it and slams his mouth on mine. I know I need to push him away. I need to stop it, but I don’t. My fingers tangle in his light brown hair and I let his tongue dance with mine. His hands move to my ass, digging in as he deepens the kiss. I moan, I can’t stop it from coming. My pussy is soaked and he’s only kissing me. This is what Zane does to me. He takes over and I let him. I give myself to him and he gives himself to me. We’re bad for each other. We’re enemies. But, we can’t stop.
He breaks the kiss and starts sucking on my neck. He knows what I like, what gets me going. I grab onto his cut and push my hands under his shirt. My fingers trace his muscular body and
he groans against me. Damn it.
“Z, what are we doing?”
He pulls me to him, wrapping me tight in his protective arms. “I’m reminding you who you are,” he whispers, kissing the top of my head.
“It’s never gonna work,” I say, my voice catching when I do.
“Fuck, go,” he says, pulling away from me. “I can’t be near you, Harp, you need to go.”
He’s always the stronger one. The one to put an end to this. I love him for it and I hate him for it.
“It’s a fucked up life, Z.” I place a soft kiss under his stitches. “Thank you.”
I rush out of there and figure I’ll find something at home to drink.
“Harper,” Dom says, drawing my attention from the paperwork in front of me. “Your father wants you.”
I nod and stand to follow him. My dad is sitting at the table and Dom closes the door behind me. “What?” I ask, holding onto the back of one of the leather chairs.
“Sit,” he directs, nodding to the chair.
I do as he says and he slams his hand down on the table. It should make me flinch, but it doesn’t. I refuse to let my emotions show. They’re buried and that’s where they’ll say. “Did I not make myself clear the other night?”
Fuck. He’s got goddamn men everywhere. “You made yourself clear.”
